Light Up Leigh Christmas Evening Coming this November

Leigh-on-Sea Town Council is delighted to announce plans for this year’s Light Up Leigh, promising an evening of festive entertainment, family activities, live music and late-night shopping in the heart of the town.

To help ensure the event runs safely and smoothly, roads will be closed from 3pm to 8pm. Residents and visitors are encouraged to check the Town Council’s website for the full list of road closures and plan their journeys accordingly.

There will be plenty to see and do throughout the evening, with activities and entertainment for all ages, including:

Children’s activities: Take part in festive fun at the Community Centre from 4pm to 5pm. Advance booking is required, with details available on the Town Council’s website.

Santa’s Grotto: Meet Santa, hosted by the Leigh Lions, from 4pm.

Christmas carols and choirs: Enjoy performances in the Library Gardens from 6pm to 7pm.

Festive Christmas Market: Browse seasonal gifts and festive treats in the Lower Hall from 3pm to 8pm.

Complimentary refreshments: Enjoy mulled wine and mince pies at the Community Centre from 4pm.

Live music: Soak up the festive atmosphere with live music at the Ironworks Café from 4pm.

Late-night shopping: Explore the town’s independent businesses, alongside activities and offerings from local churches, bars and restaurants.
