Local company Cook support Red Nose Day

March 18, 2019 by Cook

Carole has been baking cakes for various charities for years, always providing the ingredients herself and of course her time.

She started baking on Thursday 14th and worked through the night until the early hours making a staggering 400 cupcakes.

Last Friday, 15th March on Red Nose Day, she set up a stall outside the Cook shop where she has worked for several years to sell her home made cakes to the supportive public of Leigh-on-Sea and raise money for a largerly publicized and in need charity.

Historically Carole has always provided all the ingredients herself, but this year, several businesses including of course Cook themselves, The Refill Rooms, T Harrison Butchers, Pot of Herbs, Belle Fabrics and Kay & Terry Prendergast kindly donated materials. Her incredible efforts were also supported by that of Area Manager Ollie, London Area Manager
Chrissy, local team member Julia and Gemma from the People Team at Head Office who visited on the day.

Carole herself, Manager Nicolette and all the Cook team would like to extend s a massive thank you to the people of Leigh-on-Sea who without them it wouldn't have been possible. Carole not only achieved, but exceeded her target in raising a whopping £686.

Manager Nicolette said "Carole is a valued member of our team, and several staff members also gave up their time to help out on the day. Carole is a true inspiration to all that meet her, she's loved by colleagues and customers alike."
