Max Whitlock Makes History With 2 Olympic Golds!
Max Whitlock makes history with two Olympic Golds!
Max Whitlock won two gold Olympic medals in under 2 hours last night in Rio. The Basildon born champion who trains at South Essex Gymnastics Club, grabbed the gold on the floor, before then going on to win a second on pommel. Team mate Louis Smith scooped the silver.
The win came as a surprise to the Olympian himself, with Whitlock quoted as saying “I never go into competition expecting to get a medal, I just go in to do my job”
Max has won three medals in total, two gold and one bronze. Team GB currently holds 38 medals in total; 15 gold, 16 silver and 7 bronze.
