No Leigh Fishing Festival for 2013
Leigh Town Council have decided not to hold the annual Leigh Fishing Festival, which usually attracts hundreds of visitors each September, this year in order as they believe the event needs a good rethink and overhaul.
Plans are being considered to replace the traditional festival with a new event celebrating the town's maritime history in a broader sense.
The council will roll forward money from the budget this year to go towards the new festival in September 2014.
