Old Leigh Regatta 21st-22nd September 2013

The Old Leigh Regatta returns this year on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd September. This annual charity event is organised by three Scout/Explorer groups based in the Old Town, who benefit from the generous support of visitors. It is not just the Scout/Explorer groups who benefit, each year the event also raises money for an additional charity. Live bands will be playing all weekend on various stages, with music for all tastes, as well as Morris dancing, banana eating, cracker eating and cockle eating competitions for children and adults. If you are feeling adventurous you can also attempt to climb the greasy pole! In addition there are water based events including Dinghy Tug of War, Dinghy Sculling Races and the Sailing Races from local sailing clubs, with charity and food stalls on land catering for even the most sensitive palette. This is an event not to be missed! Entry is FREE and the event starts at 12pm.
