Apply now for September 2015 secondary school places
Apply now for September 2015 secondary school places - just one week to go!
Local parents and carers have just over a week to apply for secondary school places for September 2015.
Parents and carers must apply by the deadline of 31st October for a Year 7 secondary school place.
Applications can be made via the website at www.southend.gov.uk/admissions.
The website also enables parents to search for school information and check admissions criteria. Applications can also be submitted in paper copy and are available at the Customer Services Centre, Civic Centre, Victoria Avenue. Executive Councillor for Children and Learning, Cllr Anne Jones said: “We know just how important it is for parents and carers to choose the right secondary school for their child in order for them to thrive, learn, succeed and achieve their goals.
“When it comes to making that all-important decision about secondary education, the challenge is to find the right school. This means one that meets your child’s academic, social and emotional needs, where they will be happy, safe, secure and ready to learn.
“We provide as much information as possible for people to make an informed choice and whilst the majority of people will have already made that choice, there will be others still deciding. It is vital to apply on time and follow all of the guidance that we issue.”
For the September 2014 round of admissions 87% of parents applied online and found it quick and easy to complete the Single Application Form online.
