Police Seize Stun Gun Disguised as Mobile Phone

Whilst raiding a house in Stagden Cross, Basildon, following tip-offs from members of the public, drugs squad officers confiscated cocaine, cash and a mobile phone that had been adapted into a stun gun.

Two people were arrested and taken to Basildon police station for questioning. A 38 year old woman has been cautioned for possession of cocaine and a 17 year old boy has been charged with adapting a device for the discharge of electricity. Released on bail, the 17 year old will appear at Basildon Youth Court on Tuesday 18th October.

Detective Chief Inspector Jon Burgess, praised the raid as a positive result for his team. A second warrant was exectued in Stagden Cross later that same day, following further received intelligence. Two people were arrested as a result and charged with possession of cannabis. Marley Jeffrey, 25 and Keith Jeffrey, 52 of Clarendon Street, Portsmouth will appear in Basildon Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday 5th October.
