Primark set to open new store in Southend
It has been announced that giant clothes retailer Primark will take over the former BHS store in Southend High Street.
The store, located at the bottom end near The Royals shopping precinct, has been empty since BHS went into administration last summer.
Primark have applied to council planners to alter a service bay at the back of the store but have yet to confirm whether their plans will involve keeping their current premises in The Royals.
The news has been met with positive responsives from both the Council and the public.
