Hares About Town: ‘Hare-raising’ prizes up for grabs in charity raffle

Havens Hospices is asking the local community to ‘hop to it’ and enter its Hares About Town Grand Raffle to raise vital funds during the public art trail.

This is the hospice charity’s first online raffle where for £5 a ticket, supporters will be in with a chance of winning some fantastic prizes kindly donated by local businesses Utilize PLC and DP World London Gateway.

There are five prizes to be won including a HP 250 G7 Laptop or £100, £200, £300, £500 worth of Love to Shop Vouchers.

The online raffle is running during the charity’s Hares About Town public art event in partnership with Wild in Art which is currently taking place across Southend for 10 weeks.  30 beautiful hare sculptures, each one individually designed by an artist and sponsored by a business, form a free, fun, family-friendly trail of discovery for local residents and tourists to the town to explore and enjoy.

In addition to the hare sculptures, there is more than 50 leveret sculptures that have been designed and created by over 40 schools and community groups across the borough.

Judy Grocott, Voluntary Income Manager at Havens Hospices says: “We are thrilled to launch another fun fundraiser during the Hares About Town public art trail to help raise money for our care.

“The Hares About Town Grand Raffle is a fun and easy way to support the charity whilst being in with a chance of winning some great prizes at the same time.

“We are so grateful to everyone who has supported the charity so far by taking part in the trail across Southend raising vital funds so the charity can continue to support local families who rely on our specialist care.
