This year a record number of runners took to the roads of Leigh and Chalkwell to complete the rigorous Leigh-on-Sea Striders 10K road race. The local runners complete the 10km run from Leigh Marshes, through Leigh, Chalkwell and back to Old Leigh, greeted by a rapturous applause, a medal and a host of tasty rewards for those who have built up an appetite. Leigh-on-Sea striders, partnered with Run Active and Running Matters were delighted to once again be supporting the Bosom Pals 'On The Road' Appeal for Southend Hospital Charitable Foundation. This was the third year of the partnership with Bosom Pals, raising £2,000 last year. With increased entry numbers this year, Leigh-on-Sea Striders hope to exceed last year's success. 2014 preparations are already underway with feedback and comments from all involved being noted to make next year an even better event.
