Seven Hotel left with costly damage after Seafront brawl

Luxury hotel 'Seven', which was recently awarded a place in the Michelin Guide has been left with hundreds of pounds worth of damage after after a brawl broke out on Tuesday night near their premises. 

The brawl, which lasted approximately 30 minutes and involved up to ten people, initially broke out on Clifton Terrace before gradually moving onto the Terrace of the hotel.

Residents were advised to lock up their doors and the staff of Seven moved everyone inside to safety. 

A number of police cars arrived promptly at the scene, breaking up the fight. 

Two people have been arrested in connection with the incident; a 32 year old woman from Westcliff who remains in custody and under investigation. The second is Matthew Waites, 35, of no fixed address who has been chared with using threatening or abusive words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress and is due at Southend Magistrates’ Court next month.
