Southend clubber punched in face multiple times with knuckle duster

A 27 year old man revealed how he feared he would be blinded after being punched multiple times in the face with a knuckle duster.

The victim, who does not want to be identified, was enjoying a night out with friends at a well known nightclub in Southend when he was approached several times by a man asking him to buy drugs. The victim continuously refused, eventually asking the stranger to leave him alone in which he then received a blow to the face, knocking him unconscious by one of the strangers friends. The attacker then continued to rain punches down on the victim. 

Following the assault, the victim was taken to Southend Hospital and then moved to Broomfield Hospital in Chelmsford where he received spcialist treatment for a number of fractures to his cheekbone and eye socket. 

Essex Police are appealing for anybody that witnessed the assualt which took place on Sunday 16th April at around 1:30 am.
