Southend Vox and Vox Chamber present Lost Christmas: Join the search for the magic of Christmas

November 2, 2026

At the heart of Lost Christmas is one woman's journey to rediscover the special feeling that Christmas once gave her, told through a blend of theatrical storytelling with breathtaking live music. Taking the lead role and guiding audiences through this journey of festive discovery is Jenny Pittkin, Southend Vox member and Director of Music Man Project Essex.

From icy, ethereal soundscapes to smoky jazz bars, nostalgic movie moments to soaring contemporary anthems, the story unfolds in a jukebox-style musical through a rich tapestry of sound, emotion, and unforgettable performances.

Southend Vox is a fun, diverse choir made up of singers from all walks of life. Established in 2009, the group has performed at prestigious venues including the Royal Albert Hall, as well as to sold out local theatre audiences. Southend Vox is renowned for its dynamic, contemporary style and electrifying stage presence. This festive season, the choir brings its warmth, energy and playful charm to the Palace Theatre, Westcliff-on-Sea.

Vox Musical Director, Katie McEwan says, “We wanted to create something that goes beyond a traditional Christmas concert – a show that takes audiences on a journey, makes them laugh, gives them goosebumps and reminds them why Christmas can be such a magical time of year. Lost Christmas brings together everything we love about performing: incredible music, storytelling, a little theatrical magic and, of course, the extraordinary energy of our singers. It's going to be a spectacular show, full of surprises, and we can't wait to share it with our audiences!”

The 70-member Southend Vox will be joined by their sister choir, Vox Chamber, which offers a complementary sound that's precise, powerful, and hauntingly beautiful. When not taking to the Palace Theatre stage in Lost Christmas, this auditioned women's ensemble performs an intricate and uplifting repertoire throughout the year at concerts, competitions, weddings and special events. The show follows a busy year for the ensemble, which included memorable performances at King's College London and The Jazz Centre UK.

Vox Chamber Musical Director, Joanna Human says, “It is brilliant when we get to combine the sound of both choirs in one performance and, this Christmas, it means we can bring audiences a fantastic range of music to suit all tastes - from pop classics to wintry wonders. We can't wait to bring this to life on stage at the Palace!”

Throughout 2026, both choirs are proud to be supporting The ME Association. Having raised more than £25,000 for charitable causes in recent years, they continue to dedicate their performances to raising both awareness and vital funds for their chosen charity of the year. The cause is particularly meaningful to the choirs, with ME affecting members both directly and indirectly. Together, the two choirs create a musical journey that's as visually engaging as it is vocally stunning.

Packed with festive favourites, inventive arrangements, and moments of genuine emotional depth, Lost Christmas is far more than a concert. It’s an original piece of theatre and a shared experience that captures everything the season is truly about.

Because maybe Christmas isn’t something you find… Maybe it’s something you feel. Tickets for Lost Christmas are available from Trafalgar Tickets and The Palace Theatre.
