Teen burglars used bank cards to buy McDonalds

Two teenagers who raided homes and joyrode cars to use stolen bank cards to buy food in McDonalds have both been jailed. 

The offenders, only 16 and 17 years old and cannot be named for legal reasons, admitted burglary and attempted burglary across a number of homes throughout Billericay, Basilson and Laindon.

Basildon youth court heard that they stole a number of items including handbags, cars, keys and electronic items, mainly whilst occupants were upstairs asleep.

Both offenders showed remorse in court and were sentenced to a 12 month sentence in a young offenders institute.
