The BEST Chilli Con Carne

My darling step mum was an amazing, honest cook... and one thing I learnt from her, that a few little 'packets' here and there to help you along are nothing to be ashamed of!

Here's the most delicious, traditional, quick and easy chilli con carne receipe... 

  • 500gm beef or steak mince (down to preference and I also always use lean)
  • One tin of chopped tomatoes
  • One red onion
  • Chilli con carne powder
  • Kidney beans
  • Paprika
  • Salt & Pepper!
  • Tomato puree
  • Tomato ketchup!!!!
  • Colemans chilli con carne packet!!!! 


The amount of paprika, chilli powder, tomatoe puree and ketchup you want to utilise is genuinely down to preference and taste!.. this is what works for me though:

  • Fry off the mince and onion and then add the tin of chopped tomatoes and kidney beans. Season.
  • Contine to cook on a low heat whilst you add two tbls of tomato puree and three - four of tomato ketchup.
  • Add in the colemans chill con carne packet and stir
  • 3ish shakes of the chilli power and 1 of the paprika
  • Taste!!!
  • Add more powder to increase spiceyness or more kethcup for sweetness!

Its as easy as that!

Pre is approx 10 minutes and cooking 10 minutes!
