The final stretch of the summer holidays....

We’re in the final stretch of summer and if you’re running out of activities, don’t worry you’re in the right place.

One of my favourite things we’ve done this summer has been the Treasure Trail in Southend. For £6.99 you can print out your own trail sheet or they will send you a nice booklet in the post. It’s self-guided so you can do this any day or time. We were led all over the Cliffs and along the seafront- don’t worry its all buggy friendly. This activity is fun for all ages (including parents). I won’t tell you much more as I don’t want to spoil it, but it’s my top recommendation. Whether you’ve lived in Southend all your life or are new to the area, you’ll absolutely love it. Cult Coffee and Tattoos are holding a design a coffee cup competition for kids. Each week the winner will receive a cake and drink, and the overall winner will get their design made into a reusable cup. This is one of my favourite coffee shops in Leigh, if you haven’t been yet, give it a go.

Create 98 still have lots of crafts and kids classes on this summer as well as a BBQ. Pass by and collect one of their brochures or head over to the website to book in. We’ve done several classes here and always thoroughly enjoy them. Don’t forget they do adult classes too!

Our new favourite theme park is Leisure Island in Canvey. Located right on the seafront opposite The Monaco, it is absolutely perfect for young children. My boys were able to go on all the rides by themselves, and some rides have no height restriction at all so babies can go on. Its £5 for a wristband – unlimited rides all day. This is excellent value for money and we have a lovely little walk on the beach afterwards too. If you haven’t tried this one yet, add it to your list.

Stax of Creations are making slime, bubble wands, kites, bracelets and more. Bookings taken via Instagram, Facebook or phone. This is a perfect activity to combine with the Leigh library gardens park or an ice cream at Poco Gelato.
