‘The Grand Again’ Campaign Launches to Buy and Restore Grand Hotel
It would seem a new chapter in the saga of the Grand Hotel on Leigh Broadway is set to begin as an organisation known as The Grand Again have launched a bid to buy to the historic venue for the community.
This comes after Mick Norcross, the current owner, abandoned his plans to develop the property after being turned down by Southend Council’s development control committee last week.
The Grand Again, a site and Facebook group which already has more than a thousand followers, seek to invest in a cooperative pub that is run by the people of Leigh, with all profits split between community investors, commercial loan and upkeep and maintenance of the building itself.
