The Grand Hotel Latest!

September 1, 2014 by Joanna Harrison

Since opening its doors in 1899, The Grand Hotel has always been a building of presence and statu in Leigh-on-Sea!

In its earlier years, the beautiful neo classic styled building was a lively, vibrant, popular place to go with dancing, drinking, live music, shows and an immaculate boutique hotel on offer.

Over the years, it has been at the hands of a number of different Owners, with needed investment increasing year on year to restore it to its former glory. With nobody looking to take it on and other immacuate bars and restaurants in Leigh-on-Sea opening up, it was with great sadness that in 2008, The Grand finally shut its doors.

However, a ray of sunshine came in the form of businessman Mick Norcross in 2011 when he bought The Grand, with promises to restore it to its former glory!.. and the plans that Mr Norcross has realeased, really don't disappoint!

The plans include a luxury Piano Lounge Bar, Restaurant & Tea Rooms, Private Dining Room, Function Room and a number of luxury hotel rooms, all decorated in a retro, delicate yet original style that will see The 'Grand' Hotel be proud to be called this once again!

In addition, the premises will also offer a luxury spa including a sauna, steam room, cardiovascular room and treatments!

And the big question that seems to be constantly on everybody's mind at the moment is; where are the works up too?

Well, in the last 48 hours, I have had it confirmed to me that works are in abeyance at the moment due to building control issues, but rest assured they will recommence as soon as the team are able too.

If you have yet to visit The Grand Hotel Plans please do ASAP...im sure you'll agree with us, it looks amazing!!!
