The Iconic Fives Records Issues closure warning

June 8, 2023

The Iconic "Five Records" store in Leigh Broadway pleas for more local customers to keep it open.

Sandra Bennett and dad Peter Driscoll are owners of Fives Records in Leigh’s Broadway which has been running for 46 years.

This week the store announced that it may have to close following the decline in footfall since lockdown. It seems that although the store beats the prices of the bigger music outlets local people do not seem to be aware of their existence. The owners are hoping that by reaching out to customers via social media that this will attract more visitors to their store.

As we all know vinyl has become increasing popular especially with collectors over the past few years with top artists bringing out special edition and collectable vinyl when releasing new material.

As with all our high street shops we need to think before we buy online "can we purchase this nearer to home".
