The Official TRAWLER Launch Event Is Tonight!

April 13, 2016 by Rich With

The Made in Leigh Collective are holding another splendid event tonight at Leigh Community Centre to celebrate the launch of Trawler Paper.

Join us for the Official Launch of Trawler Paper and an alternative evening of stories, tales and adventures that will educate, inform and entertain.

Six local adventurers, entrepreneurs, raconteurs and personalities will be giving incredible seven minute talks on everything from wine tasting to building bamboo bicycles to wild swimming.

You’ll both learn and laugh as each speaker gives a unique talk that is informative and extremely entertaining.

Each ticket will cost £12 and will include a delicious glass of wine from local merchants Vino Vero and £5 from the sale of each ticket will go to support Conall. To book your tickets click here.

Conall is 7 years old has a form of bone cancer in his leg called Ewing's sarcoma. His treatment will be intensive and is expected to last 12 months from the children's cancer specialist University College Hospital London. For each round of treatment Conall will be spending several nights in hospital so there'll likely be travel and accommodation expenses for Mum / Dad to be able to stay by his side. After 10 weeks of chemotherapy Conall should be ready for surgery, which will be followed by rehabilitation. £5 from each ticket will go towards his fund, to help with this difficult time for him and his family.

Trawler Paper is an amazing collection of stories, adventures, news, photography and poems created with passion and a love for the Thames Estuary and surrounding areas.

Printed in a newspaper format it reflects the diversity of talent that our area has to offer.

Issue 1 was a huge success with Issue 2 due to print imminently. It will be available at the Official Trawler Launch as well as many coffee shops, cafés, and stores around Leigh-on-Sea and wider afield over the coming weeks.

The remaining money will go to pay for the venue costs and will fund a third issue of Trawler. We solely rely on generous contributions from “advertisers” as well as some sales. Everyone involved gives their time for free and no one receives a penny for any of the work they do.

We want to continue printing Trawler for Issue 3 and beyond so would love your help and generosity to do this.
