James Duddridge has been re-elected for the Rochford and Southend East constituency.

The Tory MP, who predicted that he would receive more than 50% of the vote, retained 48.7% with a majority of 5,548, nearly 4000 less than in 2015 due to Labour votes, whose own Ashley Dalton came in second with 17,465, 6,700 more than previously.

Sir David Amess held his Southend West constituency for the sixth election in a row, his tenth win overall, receiving 26,046 votes.
