Tickets to bid farewell to Leigh-on-sea Herd on sale now

As the Herd In The City art trail stomps across Southend-on-Sea for three more weeks, tickets are now on sale for the public to bid their final goodbyes to the colourful elephant creations at a special farewell event.
Following the seven weeks of spreading joy throughout the city, Herd In The City’s Farewell Weekend will take place at Saxon Hall, SS2 6UN, on Saturday 23rd and Sunday 24th September.
The event offers the public one last opportunity to see all 118 elephant sculptures in a spectacular display, all in one place, before they head off to their forever homes.
Abbey Parsons, Events Fundraiser at Havens Hospices said: “The Farewell Weekend will be a celebration of Herd In The City’s summer showcase across Southend. The beautiful sculptures have already brought so much happiness to residents and tourists of Southend during the first four weeks of the trail and we can’t wait to see the herd unite for one last time, before they stomp off to their new homes. Having all the herd together will prove how unique and beautiful these creations are and appreciate the incredible talent that has made this art trail possible.”
“Every ticket purchased will be supporting the specialist care of Fair Havens and Little Havens. We hope you, your family and friends can join us to bid one last farewell.”
There will also be relaxed sensory sessions designed for those with additional needs or sensory processing difficulties. These sessions will take place at 9am. The event will support visitors by reducing capacity, dimming lighting, having no music, and offering more time to leave the venue before crowds arrive for the next session.
A family ticket to the Farewell Event (two adults & two children) costs £20, adults £8 and children £4. To book your time slot visit www.herdinthe.city/farewell
