A Local Independent View

A new candidate is standing as an Independent for Chalkwell in the Council elections.

Local businessman Andy Crow was prompted to stand due to his frustrations on lack of action by local councillors.

“Currently the majority of our councillors don’t live in the ward and so can’t appreciate the problems we all encounter. I have lived in Chalkwell for over 10 years, and understand the frustrations of local people.”

He added “I’ve met many people from across the ward and they all have the same issues; - Speeding, inappropriate building developments, parking, litter and poor road surfaces to name a few. We all know what they are but nothing is being done.”

Andy who held several senior positions in the City before setting up his company in Southend said

“My working experiences mean I’m used to fighting my corner. Local issues should not be about party politics, but about getting things done. Voters need to decide who is best equipped to act on their concerns. Hopefully they will think I’m the best candidate”

The elections take place on Thursday 5th May.
