Appreciation for our community volunteers

June 3, 2021

Volunteers Week 2021 has arrived, and Southend-on-Sea Borough Council would like to thank and celebrate our community volunteers for their hard work and dedication throughout the year.

The council will be running a series of quotes and short videos from a few of our volunteers through social media over the next week. Where our volunteers have offered to share their stories and experiences and making their role come alive on your screen.

We hope the Boroughs residents, businesses and visitors will help us show the volunteers our appreciation for donating their time and the work they do for the Town.

Cllr Ian Gilbert, leader of the council, said: “It gives me great pride to have a great variety of people willing to donate their time for our community in Southend. I would like to thank all our volunteers for all the work they do and the skills, knowledge, and experience that they bring to their roles is invaluable.

“Although the Borough has a number of wonderful volunteers, there is always need for more. So, I encourage people who would like to know more about volunteering including the roles available to visit the council’s website.”
