Age concern Rainbow Table Co-op Fund

November 14, 2022

Age Concern Southend are thrilled to have been selected to take part in the Co-op Local Community Fund Scheme. It is hoped that the money raised from the scheme will go towards new equipment for their Dementia Day Care Service, ‘Days at the Haven’.

From now until 21 October 2023, Co-op members can log onto their account and choose to raise funds for a specific cause, choosing from 1 of 3 options. If you choose ‘Age Concern Southend-on- Sea’ for your cause, for every £1 members spend on selected Co-op branded products and services, 1p will go directly to the charity at no extra cost to you. You will only be able to choose Age Concern Southend if you are local to them, otherwise you may have different causes to choose from!

Age Concern Southend run an adult day care service within the Haven Community Hub called ‘Days at the Haven’ which offers quality respite care to people living with neurological conditions, such as Dementia. With the money raised by Co-Op members, the centre hopes to purchase an interactive ‘digital rainbow table’. It will allow clients to get involved in a range of activities including games, sensory, brain training and learning.

Sarah Wilson, Supervisor at Days at the Haven said, “This touch screen activity table will be a great addition to the centre. We are always looking for new, innovative and fun things to do with our clients at the centre and this would be an amazing addition. We really hope the local Co-Op members community get behind this idea and select ‘Age Concern Southend’ as their cause.”
