Band4Life Festival

June 8, 2015 by Chris Powell

This weekend be sure to get yourself down to Leigh old town for the eagerly anticipated Band4Life festival.

Set over both days, Saturday 13th June and Sunday 14th June, Chris Powell, the brainchild of this event, will be showcasing local talent whilst aiming to raise much needed funds for our local Hospital, Southend General. Chris says ‘Specifically, the money raised will go towards supporting the nurses. By providing funding to advance themselves and develop their careers we are supporting the absolute core of primary care, which in turn affects each and every one of us at some time in our lives.

’Chris set up Band4Life many years ago, with one goal, to raise fund for local charities and give something back to the community. To date, over £10,000 has been raised to support local charities, including

  • Southend Junior PHAB (Physically Handicapped / Able-Bodied)
  • St Christopher's School Playground Development
  • Southend HARP (Homeless Action Resource Project)
  • The children of Neptune Wardand with all profit going straight to each charity

Come down and enjoy a pint while soaking up the festival atmosphere and support a great cause in doing so. What could be better!? Starting at 2pm on Saturday 13th June at the Peterboat in Old Leigh High Street.

See you there!
