Businesses can find out more about the new 50 km dark fibre network being installed across the Borough next week.

The event will take place at South Essex College on Wednesday 8th March from 7:30am – 10:00am, and will focus on the future use of digital technology in the Borough, including an update on the dark fibre highway currently being developed to provide ultra-fast network connectivity to Southend-on-Sea.

Speakers on the day include Rob Tinlin, Chief Executive of Southend-on-Sea Borough Council, who will provide a comprehensive update on the latest developments in and around the Borough and private sector speakers from CityFibre and OneCom.

Following updates on the Digital Future of Southend-on-Sea all speakers will be hosting a Q&A panel giving attendees the opportunity to ask any questions they may have.

Cllr Ann Holland, Executive Councillor for Culture, Tourism and the Economy said: “This is a great opportunity to see how Southend-on-Sea is using new technology to maximise potential across the Borough. The development being led by City Fibre and One Com will help create new investment, increase opportunities for business and provide a real boost to the local economy by providing ultra-fast network connectivity. Attend this event to find out much more and how it can improve your business.”
