Fishing out submerged Thames secrets!

Discover the tantalising tales yielded up by the estuary, at a special Thames Archaeology Day on Saturday 17th October.

A series of absorbing talks from 11am until 3pm at the Beecroft Art Gallery, in the old Southend Central Library building, Victoria Avenue, Southend, SS2 6EX will uncover archaeological secrets from the depths of the Thames.

Tickets cost £8 each for this inspiring event and MUST be booked in advance via www.eventbrite.co.uk to avoid disappointment.

The day is suitable for anyone aged 14 upwards, and some light refreshments will be provided.

Executive Councillor for Enterprise, Tourism and Economic Development, Councillor Graham Longley said: “This day of talks is a marvellous opportunity for people to learn more out more about the enthralling history of our locality through a series of amazing archaeological finds.

“When we ran a similar event last year, it sold out very quickly so we would urge all those interested in attending, to book their places as soon as possible.”
