Hospice charity places remaining for popular London Half-Marathon event

August 11, 2022

A local hospice charity has places remaining for the popular Royal Parks Half Marathon event taking place in the capital this October.

Havens Hospices has guaranteed spots for the stunning 13.1 mile route due to take place on Sunday 9th October across four of London’s Royal Parks - Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’ Park and Kensington Gardens. This is an ideal opportunity for those runners who missed out on a ballot place for the event.

By joining ‘Team Havens,’ runners will be supporting the charity’s free palliative nursing and supportive care to children, young people, and adults across Essex. The charity must raise more than £85,000 per week to provide its specialist care across its hospice services, Fair Havens and Little Havens.

Jane Hopkins, Community Engagement Manager at Havens Hospices says, “By joining ‘Team Havens’ for this prestigious running event you will be championing vital hospice care within your local community. Our hospice care only exists because of the support and generosity of the community including those who sign up to run the Royal Parks Half Marathon. We will be there to support you all the way from registration to the finish line – together, we’re ‘Making every day count’.”

The entry fee is free but the charity asks participants to pledge to raise a minimum of £250 for Havens Hospices. To register visit www.havenshospices.org.uk/royalparks
