Hurry to play your part on musical Monday

Tuesday 26th January 2016

Tune-loving children and Young People are urged to bring their instruments and join the fun during musical Monday 15th February.

This exciting event from 10am until 3pm at St Mary’s Church of England Primary School, Boston Avenue, Southend, SS2 6LQ, is for primary and early secondary school children aged from seven years old upwards.

Young players of all instruments are welcome – strings, woodwind, recorders, brass, percussion, keyboards, guitars, and some keyboards will also be available on the day.

Participants of all abilities from complete beginners to more advanced players are invited to share in the hi jinks.

The day, directed by experienced music tutors, will include some fun musical warm ups, group percussion activities, creating new music and learning new pieces.

It finishes with an informal “performance” for family and friends.

The day costs £9 per child (£8 advantage card holders). Book online at: www.musicalmonday.eventbrite.co.uk, or call 01702 215011.

Executive Councillor for Enterprise, Tourism and Economic Development, Councillor Mary Betson said: “This is a great opportunity for children to learn new music together, so they can develop their skills while making new friends and having lots of fun.

“We hope as many as possible take up the chance to come along.”
