JINGLE MEALS LEIGH-ON-SEA IS BACK! And year two is even more ambitious!

FREE CHRISTMAS DINNERS FOR THE VULNERABLE & LONELY, PLUS A FESTIVE DROP-IN SPACE FOR THOSE WHO NEED COMPANY ON CHRISTMAS DAY.

Chalkwell resident Ryan Gosling, who founded Jingle Meals last year in lockdown, is looking to feed 500 vulnerable & lonely people in Leigh-on-Sea, and surrounding areas, on Christmas Day.

“Jingle Meals has shown that one simple act of kindness can enrich people’s lives. Leigh is an amazing community that has been through a challenging time but this is one way people can spread a little love and joy this festive season.” Ryan Gosling, founder, Jingle Meals".

Last year, after the Tier 4 lockdown was announced just before Christmas, Ryan Gosling, 32, from Chalkwell, Essex, realised he was. going to be alone for the festivities. That got him thinking; if he was alone, others would be. His immediate thought was, “How can I help to bring a little joy to their lives?”

Within a week he had spread the word on social media, enlisted the help of Gjovan Pacani, the owner of the Leigh Bistro ( The Broadway, Leigh-on-Sea), raised almost £1,500 on Just Giving, and was able to feed 120 lonely, elderly and vulnerable people, plus the NHS.

Jingle Meals with all the trimmings was a runaway success!

This year Ryan has set his sights on feeding 500 people, so needs more restaurants who can help him cook the food, plus donations from local businesses who want to add to the gift baskets (candles, flowers, chocolates etc). He’s also looking for volunteers to help deliver the food.

And if that’s not enough, he’ll also be setting up a festive drop-in centre at St Michael & All Angels church all in Leigh, with more details to be released shortly.

“I’m hoping we can deliver 500 dinners this year and make them even more festive, to bring some joy and love to our community on Christmas day,” he says.
