Key info for Southend business leaders

Friday 6th November 2015

A chief officer from top construction firm Henry Boot is giving a keynote speech to Southend Business Partnership Briefing on Thursday 19th November.

The major national company, in partnership with the Council, is developing the hi-tech Airport Business Park and a representative will address the briefing meeting from 8:30am at the Park Inn Palace Hotel, Church Road, Southend SS1 2AL.

This exceptional business park is already making waves across the region and beyond.

Audience members will have the chance to find out about plans, timescales and opportunities relating to the park, as well as the broader development context in Southend.

Registration will open at 7:30am to allow ample time for networking, and the event will finish at 10:30am.

Delegates will also have the chance to put their questions to a business-led Question and Answer panel.

The meeting will conclude with a seminar from 10am until 10:30am, led by the Council’s award-winning Planning Team – named Britain’s Development Management Team of the Year in 2014.

Team members will run through recent changes to the planning system and to explore planning issues for local businesses.

This includes information about implementing CIL - the new Community Infrastructure Levy payable by developers.

All businesses in Southend, regardless of size, sector or location are invited to register to attend and places are free but must be pre-booked.

The Council’s Deputy Leader, Councillor Ian Gilbert said: “These popular Business Partnership Briefings are an excellent way for Southend firms to keep track of the very latest developments locally and nationally.

“This forthcoming event, which is the last in this year’s series, is part of Global Entrepreneurship Week, so it is especially apt that it will showcase the ground-breaking Airport Business Park, with the help of the company Henry Boot.

“We urge business leaders to make the most of this opportunity.”

As places are limited, tickets must be booked in advance via: http://eventpilot.evolutive.co.uk/eventDetails.aspx?siteId=302&eventNo=6714
