Pace Yourself For Walking Football

Thursday 17th September 2015

Keen footballers who may be left on the sidelines in a fast-paced game, can now tackle an alternative option.

New walking football sessions are available every Tuesday morning from 10am until 11am on the brand new artificial pitch at The Len Forge Centre, Eastwoodbury Lane, Eastwood, SS2 6UH.

This venture is for adults of all ages and abilities, and offers all the elements of regular football, but delivered in a more leisurely fashion.

The sessions, which continue until Tuesday 17th November, cost just £2 each. Equipment is provided and there is no need to book – just turn up.

Executive Councillor for Enterprise, Tourism and Economic Development, Cllr Graham Longley said: “Walking Football sessions are a real opportunity for adults who would like to play the sport at their own pace.

“Even if they are not cut out for the Premier League, they can still get the chance to keep fit and enjoy the beautiful game in a slower version.”
