You can tell that Spring is in the air. The sun is out, it’s getting warmer, and it’s getting even harder to park in Leigh!

Traditionally it is the time of year when people spring clean their homes so why not take a little time out and consider clearing away the clutter and cobwebs that may be affecting the efficiency of your business.

Utilities- Gas and Electricity prices are at their lowest point for years. It’s possible that you are paying too much for our usage.

Insurance – have you checked your premiums recently or do you just happily pay monthly Direct Debit. The insurance market is becoming hugely competitive with companies offering great deals for cover on all your policies. What happens if your website or bank accounts hacked – are you fully covered?

Rates – Are you being charged too much for your premises? If you feel you are paying too much it is possible to appeal the rates.

Bank loans- Interest rates are still at historical lows. If your bank is charging you excessive rates for business loans then there are many more competitors out there. Consider the new Challenger Banks or Peer-to- Peer lending for more flexible loans.

Improve your online presence 

Incredibly, 55% of small businesses do not have a website, a recent study suggests. The latest trend is simple, clean and clear. Make sure it’s easy to navigate and you keep on top of it through publishing accurate and relevant content to reflect the changing market and target audience.

Get mobile - Customers are turning to their smartphones to browse businesses. Make sure your website is mobile- optimised to maximise sales. Are you on social media? Social media is integral to many people’s lives, and is a great way increase awareness and access different demographics.

Tackle the paper mountain. Move your files from the filing cabinet to the… virtual filing cabinet. Work out which hardcopies you actually need and digitize the rest. There are numerous Cloud alternatives and it’s never been easier to access your files - all you need is an internet connection.
