January 7, 2026

BBC Radio 4’s flagship topical discussion programme Any Questions? is set to come to Leigh-on-Sea for the first time.

First broadcast in 1948, Any Questions? has become a long-standing fixture of British public debate, featuring a panel of figures from politics, the media and public life responding to questions from a live audience. The programme airs on BBC Radio 4 on Fridays at 8pm, with a repeat on Saturdays at 1.10pm, and is also available on BBC Sounds.

The programme is currently presented by Alex Forsyth, following in the footsteps of former presenters including David Jacobs, Jonathan Dimbleby and Chris Mason. Over its 77-year history, Any Questions? has been broadcast live from a wide range of notable venues, from Coventry Cathedral and Wimbledon Synagogue to the House of Commons and Columbia University in New York.

As far as is known, Leigh-on-Sea has never previously hosted the programme. That will change on Friday 6 February 2026, when Any Questions? will be broadcast live from Highlands Methodist Church on Sutherland Boulevard. The venue is marking its 100th anniversary this year, making the occasion particularly significant for the local community.
