Story Telling adventure for World Book Day

March 1, 2021

Southend-on-Sea Libraries have joined forces with master storyteller John Kirk bringing Southend families a storytelling scavenger hunt, in celebration of World Book Day 2021.

‘We’re going on a story hunt!’ will be a live, 30-minute session delivered via Zoom. The event will be suitable for families with children aged three plus. You will need to supply paper, and either crayons, pens or pencils to draw a picture.

The storytelling scavenger hunt is set to take place on Saturday 6 March at 2pm. The event is free of charge, and we encourage you to book your ticket in advance by visiting: https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/were-going-on-a-story-hunt-a-live-online-event-with-storyteller-john-kirk-tickets-141129677665?fbclid=IwAR1qjtjy5qvv1KCIjLntV7-kqu3ddTRnlg7gI0_pdu-TKjaB6Qt0inZWEvY

Cllr Kevin Robinson, cabinet member for business, culture and tourism, said: “I am delighted that we can deliver this event to families in Southend, bringing the splendour of reading into our residents’ homes and hearts.

“World Book Day is a day that celebrates the power of books to so many children and adults worldwide, inspiring imagination and creativity. Therefore, I encourage families with children of all ages to book your ticket and get involved in this wonderful opportunity. I recommend parents give permission to allow the kids to turn the house upside down with all the activities.”

Please note, once you have booked your ticket you will receive a Zoom meeting link, ID and passcode in your confirmation e-mail. Also, children must be accompanied by an adult, but do not need to be present on screen.
