Successful Return of Leigh-on-sea Farmers Market Paves Way for Future Events

June 4, 2026

Leigh-on-sea's first Farmers Market for many years proved to be a roaring success, attracting strong support from residents and visitors alike and marking a welcome return of local produce and independent traders to the community.

Following the overwhelming success of the event, organisers are now looking ahead with excitement to future markets, aiming to welcome even more stallholders, visitors and locally produced goods.

The market brought together a diverse range of independent traders, showcasing the very best in local food, drink, crafts and wellbeing products. Visitors enjoyed specialty coffee from Plant Faced Coffee, artisan breads and sweet treats from Flour and Spoon, gourmet cupcakes from AJ Almond, and award-finalist cheesecakes from Cheesecake on Sea.

Local produce was well represented, with honey from beekeeper Ann Cushion, organic vegetables and grass-fed meat from Lauriston Farm, speciality sausages from Osburn’s Butchers, and handcrafted pickles and chutneys from Guild of Fine Food award-winner Sticky Pickle. Returning favourite Samosa Shack also proved popular with its homemade samosas, pakoras and flavourful biryani dishes.

The market also showcased a variety of artisan and wellbeing businesses, including herbal remedies from Foxglove Apothecary, handmade cotton bags from Bev’s Bags, and freshly prepared juices from Juice Guy.

Building on this strong start, organisers have already confirmed several new traders for upcoming markets, including Evergreen Soap, Woodlands Gourmet Fudge, and Pachamama Potions, which offers natural aromas and sacred essences designed to enhance wellbeing and create calming spaces.

Organisers are encouraging residents to continue supporting local businesses while enjoying the vibrant community atmosphere that the Farmers Market provides. With growing interest from both traders and visitors, future events promise an even wider selection of local produce, artisan goods and family-friendly experiences.

The success of the market has highlighted the appetite for locally sourced produce and independent businesses, with many attendees welcoming the return of a Farmers Market after such a long absence. Organisers hope the event will become a regular fixture in the community calendar and continue to grow in the months ahead.
