Game of Thrones Star to Open New Charity Shop
This Saturday at 9.30am, Eastenders, Game of Thrones and Him & Her actor Ricky Champ will cut the ribbon at the Grand Opening of HARP’s new charity shop in Chalkwell.
Local star Ricky, who plays Stuart Highway in Eastenders, and played Gatins in season 6 of the HBO smash hit Game of Thrones, will officially open the new charity shop at 821 London Road.
The Pop-Up Furniture Shop and Christmas Grotto from HARP, Southend’s leading homelessness charity, is on the site of the old Gainsborough Carpets shop at 821 London Road, opposite Chalkwell Park.
The shop will sell a wide selection of high quality pre-loved furniture and act as a donation drop-off point for supporters of the charity.
The shop will open to the public on Wednesday 9th November, and the Grand Opening is set for Saturday 12th November, at 9.30am.
The shop has plenty of on-site parking so is perfect as a drop-off point for all donation types.
Anna Wallace, HARP’s Head of Charity Shops, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Ricky Champ to our new shop on Saturday to cut the ribbon and celebrate with us as we embark on this new venture!
We want everyone from the local community to come down and join us, have fun, and see what we have to offer. All profits from the shop will go towards supporting our services for local people, so donating or shopping with us really is win-win!”
If you’d like to donate, volunteer, or simply find out more, head to www.harpsouthend.org.uk/shops.
