Diversity Dance Studios Opening in Kings Road
The Diversity Studios are opening in Kings Road ahead of this year’s appearance in Snow White at the Cliffs Pavilion for the Christmas Pantomime.
Ashley Banjo and the Diversity Team have completed the fantastic transformation of the old Westcliff United Reformed Church in Kings Road, Leigh. Having recently purchased the property, Ashley and his building team have renovated the old building into a state of the art dance and entertainment academy.
The church’s vast rooms and chapel have made ideal spaces for new studios with floor to ceiling mirrors and quiet chill zones. It is great to see such an old redundant local building being brought back to life in such an amazing way; well done Ashley on the wonderful transformation.
This year Ashley and the Diversity Team are leading the cast alongside Kirsty Ingram, Myra Dubois and Pete Firman in Snow White at the Cliffs Pavilion.
Ashley Banjo and Diversity are starring as The Prince and his Guards. They are no strangers to Southend having performed in the 2019 production of Robin Hood and his Merry Men. Ashley and Diversity became household names since winning Britain’s got talent in 2009 and Ashley is of course well known for his television roles including Dancing on Ice.
Kirsty Ingram is returning to play Snow White after playing the role last year in Newcastle. Kirsty has also performed as Rumpleteazer in the European Tour of Cats and Amber Von Tussle in the national tour of Hairspray. Kirsty is really looking forward to appearing this year in Pantomime in Southend and spending some time exploring the local area especially the seafront.
Myra Dubois is playing the “Wicked Queen” having become a household name in 2020 making the semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent. Her solo show Dead Funny played at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and made its international debut at the Sydney Opera House. With her dry wit and flamboyant costumes Myra will certainly steal the show.
Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs begins its spirited adventure at the Cliffs Pavilion from Friday 9th December until Saturday 31st December 2022. For more information visit www.southendtheatres.org.uk.
