First Impressions Count!

First impressions count

First impressions count. Scientists state that it takes just one-tenth of a second for us to judge someone. Not only are people quick to form first impressions, they are also fairly accurate when the target presents him or herself genuinely

This is true throughout the world according to a recent report from Booking.com so wherever we are its vital that we give the best possible impression of ourselves.

The report found the biggest no-no’s when it comes to meeting clients were;

- Being on a mobile device during a meeting – 46%
- Not greeting people appropriately – 43%
- Inappropriate attire – 36%
- Speaking too loudly – 32%
- Not responding to emails within 24 hours – 19%

So be aware of how you portray yourself when meeting people for the first time. It may just make the difference between getting that important contract and missing out on the deal.
