Havens Hospices is calling for walkers to join the Fun Walk Trust’s virtual walk to support the charity this September.

The Fun Walk Trust organises the annual walk to benefit local charities, normally held at Barleylands Farm, Billericay, but this year has decided to carry on the event this year virtually in light of the pandemic.

Participants can now walk between 2-5K anywhere they like at any time in September – this could be at home in the garden or up stairs or by taking a nice long stroll in the great outdoors.

The virtual walk is completely free to enter and all fundraisers will receive a certificate on completion.

Every pound supporters raise in sponsorship will help the charity provide essential hospice care to adults and children with complex or incurable conditions across Essex.

Jane Hopkins, Voluntary Income Team Leader at Havens Hospices said: “This is a great opportunity for both our current and new supporters to grab their walking boots and take a walk anywhere they like after events like our Havens to Havens Walk were cancelled this year. Our hospice care services haven’t stopped during the pandemic so neither can our fundraising – every pound raised in sponsorship will help us continue ‘Making every day count’ for every adult, child and family we care for.”
