MasterChef Pop up - London - Our Review
Its one of the most loved programmes on TV, so when a 'Pop-up Restaurant' was announced for MasterChef in London, we, at Leigh-on-Sea.com couldn’t resist the allure of tasting some of TV most loved chefs culinary delights.
Based on the 11th floor of the Blue Fin Building, which plays host to some of London's most spectacular views including that of The Shard, The Thames & St Pauls, this quirky, engaging and mouth watering experience was one not to be forgotten easily!
The event , running from 2nd September until the 5th October overall features 12 of the programmes most loved chefs for a week at a time, with leigh-on-sea.com having the honor in tasting the delights of Mat Follas (winner of 2009), James Nathan (winner 2008) and Natalie Coleman (winner 2013).
The delectable & flavorsome menu, is complied of 2 choices per course, all of which have been created by one of the three chefs!
Just to give you a little insight into the menu, leigh-on-sea.com will share with you what we had…. though we’d rather keep it as our own little secret:
Our Starter was called ‘Rockpool’ created by Kiwi Mat and was shellfish and edible seaweeds with a shellfish consommé! Delicious!
The main we selcted was a tea infused venison with red cabbage & vegetables, plated beautifully by the wonderful James!
Finally dessert…. Simply called ‘Textures of Pears’ by Natalie; a variety of poached and pureed pears laid on a bed of heavenly chocolate with a mixture of rich chocolate sauce and crumbled biscuit complimenting it perfectly!
With a few tickets still available for this event, we can only recommend you get booking ASAP, especially with prices at approximately £35 per head!
