London Southend Airport donates care packages to NHS

March 26, 2020 by Emily Mertens

London Southend Airport is creating care packages for key NHS workers who are struggling to find food in supermarkets.

NHS workers are working non-stop to support COVID-19 patients and people in need of medical assistance, but are finding it difficult to find essential items in the supermarket.

In response, LSA staff have gathered essential items to give to NHS staff at Southend and Basildon hospitals as well as the ambulance base on Aviation Way.

Glyn Jones, CEO, London Southend Airport, said: “We have 75 care packages which will be delivered over the next few days to help as many NHS staff as possible. It is a time to pull together and support key workers on the front line of the fight against COVID-19. I am proud that the airport is able to play a small role in providing that support.”

Don't forget to show your thanks to our NHS staff by getting involved in the Clap for our Carers event tonight at 8pm - more information here!
