Step into Spring: Donate your daily stroll to support local hospice charity

February 15, 2021

A local hospice charity is calling on their local communities to donate their daily walk anytime between February and March to support frontline care.

Havens Hospices’ Step into Spring campaign aims to raise vital income for the charity which has seen an increase in demand for its care since the Coronavirus pandemic.

With more and more people taking daily walks for fresh air and exercise during the current pandemic, the charity is asking members of its community to make a donation and walk for Havens Hospices, knowing that every step they take will be supporting the charity in providing its free specialist care.

Supporters can either make a one-off donation in support of the campaign or set their own walking challenge and raise sponsorship.

Lucy Burgess, Event Fundraiser at Havens Hospices says: “With more people walking during these difficult times we would love for our communities to consider making a donation for one of their walks so we can continue to raise vital funds for everyone who needs us during difficult times in their lives.

“Whether you’re walking to keep fit, enjoy the outdoors or peace of mind – every step you take in aid of Havens Hospices will be ‘Making every day count’ for the children, young people and adults we care for.  This campaign gives our communities a special reason to walk – not only will you be walking to improve your wellbeing but your donation could also be supporting a patient living with a complex or incurable condition.

“Getting fresh air and exercise is more important than ever during these unsettling times to boost mental health and wellbeing so why not take this opportunity to take pride in knowing that you are not only walking for yourself but also for your local hospice charity.”
