Traffic signal upgrade to commence

Wednesday 9th September 2015

Sunday 13th September sees the start of a complete refurbishment of the traffic signalling system at the junction of Victoria Avenue and Fairfax Drive. Essential works to remove obsolete cables and replace traffic signals will start at 7am with lane closures in place between 9.30 – 15.30. Traffic signals will be operated manually during the works which are expected to last 12 days.

Motorists are advised to plan extra time for their journeys and, once complete, there will be no alterations to current traffic flow.

Cllr. Martin Terry, Executive Councillor for Public Protection, Waste & Transport, said: ‘These works are essential to keep traffic running smoothly through one of the busiest roads in the Borough. Traffic disruption will be kept to a minimum and we thank drivers in advance for their patience.
