Try a Bus Day is just the ticket!

Wednesday 9th September 2015

Caught a bus lately?

If not, there’s a great chance to find out about routes, fares, where the stops are, and much more at a special Try a Bus event on Wednesday 16th September.

This is run by the sustainable travel initiative, Ideas in Motion from 10am until 12:30pm at Belfairs Methodist Church, Eastwood Road North, Leigh.

It is especially for anyone who has not used a bus for a while, or who may not be very confident to do, or may have mobility issues, or perhaps may feel isolated.

Those who attend will have an opportunity to go on a short bus journey as well as the chance to discuss a local bus operator and with Council travel experts, the best and safest ways to use buses in Southend.

Executive Councillor for Public Protection, Waste and Transport, Councillor Martin Terry said: “Residents who are not regular bus passengers may greatly benefit from this extra encouragement to re-discover how convenient and accessible buses are and to explore details of the latest routes available.

“We hope as many people as possible will come along to this most helpful event. It is free, but you will need to book your place by calling 01702 215003 or emailing: ideasinmotion@southend.gov.uk
