We Have The Best Of Everything In Leigh on Sea
Since moving to Leigh on Sea around 18months ago, I've known I'm pretty lucky. I didn't need that survey to tell me that it's one of the best places to live in the UK. And with a toddler, it's a dream. So much on offer, from all the amazing classes, activities and groups, to the most amazing outdoor entertainment provided by the beaches and local parks.
Me and my little are out and about, A LOT. Partly because there's so much to do, and partly as we just can't tolerate each other's solo company at home for too long... #mummylolz #jokingnotjoking
One of our shared joys is eating out. Obvs I'm not talking about formal dinners here, but in his own words "Mummy, can we go to cafe for sandwich and chocolate cake?". Yes. Of course we can.
Our favourites- Nirvana, where he is called by his name, and we don't need to remind Alex of our order, although he enjoys requesting his babycino. The Temple Cafe by Chalkwell Park- not far from our new home, amazing home made cakes and high tolerance for toddler crumb carnage. Oasis, for wholesome food, friendly service, and supporting somewhere that is in turn supporting the local community. (We had a major meltdown incident here recently, our biggest ever, and thankfully the staff couldn't have been more gracious).
What made me appreciate all of this a little more was a recent trip to visit my sister in East London. Went for a very nice brekkie in a park cafe. 2 adults and a 2yr old, set me back £33. Don't get me wrong it was delicious, but no better than any of our favourite Leigh haunts, and the service was lacking the personal connection. In fact I felt wasn't a yummy enough mummy to be hanging out there.
The moral of the story- as usual, we have the best of everything in Leigh on Sea, toddler dining included.
