Wine Review

Cave de Lugny Sparkling Burgundy Blanc de Blancs Cremant de Bourgogne, France.

When I was in the Loire Valley last summer It took me back to when I first started tasting French wines and why I fell in love with them. This amazing bottle of Sparkling is made from 100% chardonnay grapes that are grown in southern Burgundy. Appearance is clear with lemon in colour and lots of very small gentler bubbles, Big aromas of white peach, green apple and a slight hint of French oak. With an amazing taste of fresh peach and pear with little hints of biscuit and an after taste of toast, It’s a medium to full-bodied dry wine with lots of acidity and giving you a very long finish on the plate.

I would recommend to serve well chilled and with smoked salmon or oily fish. When I first tasted this wine it took me back to a time when I went to one of my first ever wine tastings in London. There were lots of tables covered with hundreds of bottles of wine and lots of industry professionals and all I remember was this is what I want to do for a living. I love wines that remind you of events that have happened in your life and I think with this bottle of sparkling it will defiantly give you something to remember.
