More Than 10k LED Street Lights Keep Southend Shining Bright
An ambitious two-year project to keep Southend’s roads lit throughout the night with energy-efficient LED lamps has now seen more than 10,000 street lights installed across the borough, with only 4,000 left on the to-do list.
Plans for Historic Seafront Pub to Become Flats and Chip Shop
The Britannia, in Eastern Esplanade, Southend, is to be preserved and turned into a chip shop with flats above, after developers and campaigners came to an agreement following the pub’s closure in March 2015.

News: Tragic accident passenger cautioned with possession
A 17 year old boy who was a passenger in the car that saw two youths killed in Leigh has been cautioned for possession of cannabis.
