A spectacular light and sound installation has been confirmed as the free closing event for Southend LuminoCity.

‘Light Labs’ is a light and sound installation which takes place at the recently reopened Twenty One on Saturday 19 February from 8pm, with doors opening at 7pm. There is no need to book, just drop into the venue and enjoy the experience.

Middleton, the new manager of Twenty One, said: “We are very excited to host ‘Light Labs’, an immersive light and sound experience at Twenty One, and to be able to join the Southend LuminoCity trail.

“We are thrilled to support young emerging artists, Daisy Hamlin and Zac Dorne with this new project, accompanied and complimented by a live performance from local musician Gene Davis.

“A big thank you to Southend-on-Sea Borough Council and the Southend Tourism Partnership for supporting this project and for supporting our local artists.”

Jacqui Dallimore, chair of the Southend Tourism Partnership, said: “Southend LuminoCity has really caught people’s imagination and we are so looking forward to seeing visitors enjoy the fantastic, free light trail that just keeps getting better and better.

“The closing event at Twenty One is a great way to finish off the festival and celebrate the brilliant local talent we have in Southend.”

Southend LuminoCity takes place between Wednesday 16 – Saturday 19 February across Southend-on-Sea High Street, the Pier and seafront.

Full details of all the installations can be found at www.southendluminocity.co.uk. A free guide to the festival with all locations for the installations can be obtained from local shops and businesses from Friday 11 February.
